Popular versatile shellfish
Our cold-water shrimp are caught in the cold, clean North Atlantic Ocean. The shrimp live their entire lives at the ocean’s bottom and glow very slowly, giving them an exquisite flavour, a firm texture and a sweet aftertaste.
Less than an hour after being caught, the shrimp are cooked, cooled and frozen aboard the ship at a temperature of -25 to -27ºC. The entire process is automatic and untouched by human hands, ensuring the highest quality possible.
To meet different needs and applications, we offer two premium cold-water shrimp species:
Pandalus borealis
Pandalus borealis is the well-known classic among cold-water shrimp. Thriving in the deep, icy waters of the North Atlantic, it grows slowly — the same natural pace that gives our shrimp their characteristic sweetness, clean flavour and firm bite. Its delicate taste, consistent quality and naturally pink colour make borealis the preferred choice for a wide range of dishes in both retail and foodservice.
Pandalus montagui
Pandalus montagui is a smaller cold-water species that thrives in the colder, shallower Arctic regions. Like borealis, it develops its flavour slowly in pure, nutrient-rich environments, resulting in the same sweetness and firmness but with a slightly more pronounced taste. Processed with the same care and speed aboard the vessels, montagui offers reliable premium quality and an authentic Arctic character ideal for gourmet and specialty applications.
