Redfish
SEBASTES MARINUS/SEBASTES MANTELLA
Redfish, or ocean perch, is caught in the waters around Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Newfoundland. It is available in two types: Sebastes Marinus – pink and orange in color, mainly caught in coastal areas; and Sebastes Mantilla – with a deeper red color, mainly caught at 800-1200 meters. Both varieties are rich in flavor and popular in markets across the world.

The season goes mainly from April to September depending, however, on where in the North Atlantic it is harvested. In Greenland even winter fishing takes place.
